Notre Insouciance is a theatre company specialising in public space performances, led by Juliette Hecquet, a director, actress and cultural mediator. Since 2018, Notre Insouciance has worked with around twenty artists from a range of disciplines: theatre, music, dance, audiovisual arts and the visual arts. Building on workshops, improvisation and collaborative writing, the performances are designed to encourage interaction and sharing in ‘third places’, at festivals and in non-traditional venues such as gardens, schools, sports halls and public squares. The company relishes tackling societal issues with poetry, irony and a carefree spirit. With each new production, an opportunity arises to engage with the audience and surprise those who do not consider themselves theatre-goers.
