Reliefs
Contemporary circus, music, and visual arts
Reliefs stems from a need: to rethink our relationship with the landscape in a world where the natural world is becoming fragile and the bond between humans and their environments is fraying. For several years, the Jupon company has been exploring "fringes"—those transitional zones where forms shift and where the world’s tensions and resonances can be perceived. Today, we feel an urgent need to go further: not merely to look at landscapes, but to inhabit, experience, and listen to them until they become creative partners.
In an algorithmic world, Reliefs seeks to reinvent a sensitive way of being in the world. The question guiding our research is simple: How can the body become an instrument for measuring the landscape? Not a scientific tool, but a sensor, a porous membrane, a living seismograph capable of absorbing the territory’s forces, rhythms, thresholds, and silences.
We aim to create a dialogue between graphic arts, walking, dance, and circus. We want to propose a form of expression born from the terrain itself—from breath, slopes, hollows, and the wind. It is a creative work that does not merely reproduce the landscape but emerges from it, like an imprint, a friction, or a movement.
Reliefs is part of an artistic inquiry deeply engaged with the world today: a way of inhabiting the landscape consciously, sharing its fragilities, and making tangible the connections between living beings and their environment.
